1996 MEETING MINUTES

1. Introductions: All attendees introduced themselves.

2. Last year’s minutes were approved.

3. Sub-Committee Reports were solicited:

1. Attendees discussed the subject of the intensity reference standard.

A motion was made to advise the ASTM E-18 Committee that secondary butanol be recommended as an alternative intensity referencing standard and the D. Anderson paper be added to the ASTM E544 Standard of Practice as a reference. The motion was seconded and passed by the committee in a voice vote.

2. Attendees discussed the status of the Guideline Document for Odor Sampling and Measurement. Most attendees had a copy of the draft document. The discussion included a review of the "round table discussion" that occurred in September 1995 at the Bloomington, MN AWMA Odor Specialty Conference. The discussion also included the European draft standard on odor measurement. The subject was tabled for the June 1997 EE-6 Committee meeting in Toronto.

3. Alex Gnyp reported that his research students were successfully compiling a literature list of "Odor/Odour" papers. He encouraged attendees to send their lists to him.
4. The committee discussed the proposed session topics for the Toronto meeting.

    5.    The meeting was adjourned at approximately 1:00PM
