2010 MEETING MINUTES

The meeting opened at 12:00PM

Michael McGinley (Chair), Anna Bokowa (Vice-Chair) were present for the meeting.
Kamlesh Patel (Secretary) was unable to attend the meeting.
A sign-in sheet was passed around the room. An attendance list is included with these minutes.

1. Introductions

Those in attendance introduced themselves to the group. New committee members were welcomed.


2. A&WMA and the Conference

Session Proposals

The following Principal Area topics were submitted with the accompanying Principal Area Leads (PAL) for the annual conference call for papers:

a. General Session on Odor Measurement, Effects and Management
PAL: Michael McGinley - St. Croix Sensory, Inc.

b. Modeling and Monitoring of Odors
PAL: Ray Porter - CH2M Hill

c. Community Monitoring and Enforcement Case Studies
PAL: Anna Bokowa - ORTECH Environmental

d. Odor Issues from Industry's Perspective - PANEL SESSION
PAL: Larry Hottenstein - ERM

Mike McGinley submitted these topics for inclusion in the Annual Conference call for papers. Anna Bokowa will oversee the review process as the technical committee chair.

3. Past Conferences

2010 WEF/AWMA Odor and Air Emissions Specialty Conference
Charlotte Convention Center, Charlotte, NC
21-24 March 2010

This conference was well attended with 280 full registered participants. 47 people participated in the A&WMA Workshop: Issues in Odor and Odorant Sampling, held Sunday, 21 March 2010.

5. Odor Sampling - Update Discussion

Anna Bokowa reported she has not received any comments on her revisions sibmitted in 2008: Suggested Revisions by Anna Bokowa (June 2008)

Ray Porter and Charles McGinley are working on pulling together information from current EPA sampling documents. This work is taking place as they completed the Odor Sampling workshop at the odor specialty conference and as they prepare to present the workshop again at the WEFTEC in October.


6. Other business

A&WMA News: The 2011 conference will be held at the Coronado Springs Resort in Disney World. This is a large hotel venue. It is planned to reduce the number of concurrent tracks and increase poster presentations. Abstracts will be due in early December and more time will be provided to authors to prepare the manuscripts.
