2012 MEETING MINUTES

The meeting opened at 11:30AM

Due to the recent WEF/A&WMA Odor specialty conference in Louisville, KY in April, there was expected to be low attendance at the 2012 annual meeting. No formal agenda was prepared for the meeting.

A sign-in sheet was passed around the room. An attendance list is included with these minutes.


1. A&WMA and the Conference

A&WMA is working on restructuring some of the Technical Committees. There is no change planned for the EE-6 Odors Committee.

The 2013 Annual Meeting is scheduled for Chicago. I new abstract and manuscript submission system will be used next year.

2. Session Proposals

The following presentation topics were submitted to A&WMA for the call for abstracts:

a. General Session on Odor Measurement, Effects and Management
PAL: Anna Bokowa - ORTECH

b. Odor Measurement and Dispersion Modeling
PAL: Ray Porter - CH2M Hill

c. Agricultural Odors and Air Emission Issues
PAL: Mike McGinley - St. Croix Sensory, Inc.

Mike McGinley submitted these topics for inclusion in the Annual Conference call for papers.

3. Report on the 2012 WEF Odor and VOC Specialty Conference

WEF had provided a report on the 2012 conference held 15-18 April 2012 in Louisville, KY.

There were 275 participants along with 100 exhibit booths at the conference. 92 people participated in the two conference workshops, Status of the Application, Design and Operation of Biological Odor Control Systems and Odor Sampling and Evaluation Issues, both held on Sunday. The Technical program included over 50 paper presentations in 10 technical sessions. A conference proceedings was produced and is available through WEF.


The meeting adjourned at 12:00 PM.
